On November 5th Lithuanian School “Genys” hosted a Zeppelins “Cepelinai” Party for local Lithuanian Community. We had a large amount of interest and success last year so we hoped to replicate the event again to fund-raise for the Lithuanian school which is now twelve years old. The support of our wonderful Lithuanian community has helped the school grow and prosper.
A large Lithuanian "cook" team, consisting of teachers, students, their mothers and their grandmothers, gathered to cook the most delicious “Cepelinai” along with several other equally delicious dishes. They included herring, cold borscht, various meatballs, garlic bread, smoked pigs' ears, and more, causing more than a few people to lick their fingers! A slideshow displaying pictures from our Lithuanian school was a good way to get acquainted with week-to-week school activities, teachers and events.
It was a good day to sample delicious dishes and to socialize. San Francisco Lithuanians know how to have fun. We even had an accordion accompanied singing! We can confidently say that our celebration was a huge success!
We would like to thank all our guests for financially contributing to the well being of the Lithuanian School “Genys”!
Until next time!
